Our founder & creative director, Genevieve Pienaar, started out in printmaking & photography before pursuing a successful career in Interior Architecture and Design. She gained extensive experience at leading design practices in London, completing projects worldwide for some of the most exciting brands in fashion and retail for clients including Alexander McQueen, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols as well as high-end luxury homes. 

 After returning to South Africa to work on a private residential project close to her heart, Genevieve founded SALT Design Store in 2021, as a shared platform to showcase exceptional South African design alongside premium international brands & products.

BUSTER + PUNCH

Buster + punch started out in a garage in east london, united kingdom, building custom motorbikes.

Their love for working with rare, solid metals has led them to transform everyday functional fittings into extraordinary home details. From the light bulb, the dimmer switch and the pendant lamp to the door handle and the cabinet pull, they are constantly creating an innovative collection of unforgettable design details.

Their work is inspired by london’s fashion, music and sub-culture scenes where they collaborate with street artists, bike builders and fashion designers to inject attitude into their crafted products.

FAUCET STROMMEN

Being a family owned company and having chosen a path different to most tapware brands, faucet strommen brings you something different and special.
They are hands-on and passionate about what they make and do. They love to create beautiful pieces that last; it’s part of their heritage.

The faucet strommen factory is in kerang, australia, on the loddon river and there they design, prototype and build all of their tapware and bathroom accessories.

SILK AVENUE

Carefully crafted and Made to Measure. 

Over decades, the Silk Avenue design team has travelled the globe hand-selecting the best materials and studying the tools and techniques of the carpet industry to support your creative vision. They have sourced premium patterns and designs and built strong relationships with manufacturers worldwide to develop a great supply chain and competitive lead times. You’ll see that luxury first-hand in their collection and in their custom-made pieces. 

SOMETHING GOOD

Something good studio is a collaborative textile design studio. They work with artists and designers who communicate strong positive messages via their work. Along with these artists and designers, they experiment in creation of exclusive homeware and fashion textile pieces characterised by a fun sense of adventure.

In community, they use art and design to encourage well-being, happiness and purpose. They aim to make a gentle, positive impact on the lives of their much-loved clients and collaborators, and in the process leaving the world a better place. What started out a small side line project in 2018 in pursuit of a life worth living, blossomed into a full blown business with a good cause.

All designs are made in small, limited edition batches. Ethically made in south africa using locally sourced, sustainable materials.

ROMARIA

Pronounced: homa’ria

Translation: pilgramige/moving forward together

Romaria is a fresh knitwear label where luxury meets comfort. We design non-seasonal lifestyle items for modern movement and a seamless transition of studio-to-street style. Each collection connects to the next by means of timeless, exclusive patterns and intricate jacquard knitted techniques, consisting of natural fibers. Each item is carefully crafted by a team of creators to add an element of art to your wardrobe. Founded by feminist team Carla Pinto, founder of African Style Story and Zadia Botes, founder of Something Good Studio. The brand aims to redefine value and challenge the rampant consumerism endangered by fast fashion. 

STUDIODELLA GRAMMATICA

FALL INTO LINE

Designed by the celebrated interior and product design practice, Studio Della Grammatica in collaboration with luxury London rug company, Silk Avenue.

The Fall Into Line collection was inspired by an extensive study of the 3D details of Brutalism Architecture and minimal art. This was then juxtaposed with the tranquility of Japanese Gardens resulting in the stunning, contemporary and linear designs.

This elegant, linear aesthetic enables each design to work with every interior style. Along with the option to combine two or more pieces in a stunning jigsaw puzzle, adding style and warmth to spaces large and small.

The studio’s play on low and high looped pile creates a subtle 3D quality, casting interesting shadow patterns within the composition. The differentiations in pile heights combined with subtle colour variations enhance the linear quality and create a beautiful and original collection.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

STUDIO DELLA GRAMMATICA is a celebrated interior architecture and product design firm that offers a tailored approach to their global clientele blending artisanal, fashion, art and science into their beautiful, award-winning design work.

Founded by Fotini Delagrammatica as result of the demand for her aesthetic languages and design skills. Fotini is an interior architect and product designer educated in Greece and Italy with an honours in Masters of Design from Domus Academy, Milan and a work experience both in Greece and United Kingdom.
